Los Angeles Weekend Trip!

Ever since I was little, I dreamed of going to California. Not sure what influenced me, but like most of us, it was probably the entertainment industry. As usual, I was at work thinking impulsively and was like fuck it, let’s go to California. So I purchased flight tickets to go to Los Angeles. Two weeks later, I finally went and here I am with the most amazing memories from that place. I had no real plans or anything. Just boarded the plane and let the universe do the rest. I was blessed enough to have an incredible friend who let me stay at his place. If it weren’t for him, not sure how the trip would have turned out. He literally knew all the magical spots. I also ended up seeing some of my other CA friends. Something I wasn’t planning on since people are always busy with their lives – what more could I have asked for?

Deep in my heart, I always knew I was going to love California. I love cosmopolitan cities, nature, nice weather, beaches, and beautiful people – this is basically LA in a nutshell. During my stay, I visited Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu Beach, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood. I stayed in Silver Lake and absolutely loved that area too. A town on the hills with beautifully designed homes. I also decided not to have any expectations of LA before visiting; this includes good or bad. I believe you shouldn’t let the opinions of other people affect your perspective on things. For example, I know New York is known to have “rude people.” However, being from this city, I know this isn’t always the case. While many people think LA is full of “fake people,” I think you can always find your place regardless of the city you live in. Fake and rude people are everywhere.

As someone who loves great weather, shopping and the outdoors, LA is the perfect place for that. If you happen to take a short trip to LA, I’d recommend visiting the sites listed below, which aka are far away from the touristy traps:

  • Stroll around Abbot Kinney Boulevard

  • Shop around Melrose Ave

  • Drive through Beverly Hills

  • Enjoy matcha ice cream at Cha Cha Matcha

  • Hike the Hollywood sign

  • Drive to Malibu

  • Trendy lunch at the Edition

  • Grab some fantastic & authentic Japanese food at TSUBAKI in Echo Park

  • Bike down Venice Beach

  • Take beautiful pics of the Venice Canals

I have nothing but good things to say about LA. This city has got to be one of my favorite American cities. I am just speechless. Yes, New York, I’m sorry. Who knows, maybe I’ll live here next. If you’re planning a trip to Los Angeles, enjoy your time and let me know if you visit any of the places I mentioned above!
